"Casey Girl"—Wisconsin"Sue Loucks, one of our clients from Wisconsin, submitted the following spotlight. Sue had just taken Casey Girl’s paw impression for her pendant just days before Casey passed away. Her story has touched me deeply, as many of my client’s stories do. I thank her for sharing Casey Girl’s memory with all of us. Casey Girl, my Golden Retriever, was a crazy girl, and my biggest teacher. She is the reason I have my own dog training business today. You’ll notice in the picture that she had crumbs on her nose! That was my Casey Girl. She would do absolutely anything if a piece of food was involved. It also had to be her idea. The day before she passed away she stood at the back closet, barking for me to get her a treat. This was her usual protocol. She also ADORED swimming. We purchased lake property in northern Wisconsin last year, and she lived in the water. It's a four-hour drive up to our lake house, but Casey Girl knew where we were going. As soon as we turned the corner off the highway she'd be up, just waiting to get into the water. When we go to the lake house this year, I'm going to take some of her ashes and sprinkle them by the water's edge. I know that is where she is right now, standing in some lake waiting for me to see her again some day. Of course, I'll have to go and find her! She was my independent girl." |
